Things are moving fast in the LibrePlan world — and for the first time in quite a while, we can confidently say: a new release is on its way.
Full-time focus
Right now, development is happening at full speed. LibrePlan is no longer something that just gets attention “when time allows” — it’s being worked on full-time. That shift alone is already making a noticeable difference in both progress and energy around the project.
Building a modern release pipeline
One of the key areas we’re investing in is how LibrePlan is built and released.
We are currently developing a new set of internal workflows using Forgejo. These workflows are responsible for automatically building release artifacts in a structured and reproducible way. This is an important step toward making LibrePlan easier to maintain, easier to distribute, and more transparent as an open source project.
You’ll soon start seeing the results of this work reflected in the way releases are packaged and delivered.

Visible progress
If you’ve been watching the project activity, you may have noticed things picking up significantly. There’s a steady stream of commits, improvements, and refinements happening behind the scenes.

A major step forward: translations
One of the most impactful recent improvements is in localization.
LibrePlan now supports 18 languages (ca, cs, de, en, es, fa_IR, fr, gl, it, nb, nl, pl, pt, pt_BR, ru, sv_SE, zh, zh_CN) for both email templates and help documentation — a huge jump from the previous 4 languages.
This change makes LibrePlan far more accessible to teams around the world and reflects our commitment to making the software usable for a global audience.
What’s next?
We’re currently finalizing the last pieces needed for the release. That includes polishing features, stabilizing the build pipeline, and ensuring everything meets the quality you expect from LibrePlan. Actually, you can check for yourself! Just have a look at the top pull requests at https://github.com/LibrePlan/libreplan/pulls. The release will be build after merging of:
- 2035 Update email templates
- 2034 Changed version string.
- 2033 Upgrading jackson rest api lib
- 2032 Set send stats to default
- 2031 Work on extra translations of the help files
- 2030 Adding SBOM generation
There’s still work to do — but the direction is clear, and the momentum is real.
Stay tuned. The next LibrePlan release is getting closer every day.
